The service center "WestAI" is a consortium of scientific organizations in North Rhine-Westphalia led by the University of Bonn. The services offered to customers from science and industry include support

• in the processing of data,
• in the transfer of AI technologies,
• in preliminary research and
• in the development of prototypes and customer-specific AI solutions.

Fraunhofer SCAI contributes to the service center's competencies in developing new intelligent methods for analyzing data from physical-technical applications and adapting them for specific use cases. SCAI takes up the knowledge available to users, structures it, and transfers it into mathematical or semantic concepts, which flow into data-driven models as domain knowledge.

In addition, SCAI offers certified training courses and special training for AI specialists.

The German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) funds "WestAI" from November 2022 to December 2025.
