Verena Fennemann works as acting director of the Fraunhofer EU-office in Brussels. She is environmental engineer by training and holds a master degree in production management. After her studies, she finalised a training-on-the-job to become a civil servant at a state environmental agency in Germany.
From 2001 to 2018 Verena worked in the Fraunhofer-Institute for Material Flow and Logistics as researcher in the field of environment and resource logistics as well as manager for EU-affairs. Between 2013 to 2016 she was Seconded National Expert to the unit "Eco-innovation" of the European Commission's Directorate-General for Research and Innovation.
